Alain Cohen
graduated from MIT in 1986 with a BSEE. While at MIT, he built a general-purpose software-based modeling and simulation environment for communications networks. The software was called OPNET, for "Optimized Network Engineering Tools". In 1986, Alain co-founded a company, now called OPNET Technologies, Inc., to further develop these concepts and build a commercial OPNET product. Today, OPNET has close to 300 employees, and is a leader in the field of Intelligent Network Management. Alain serves as the President and Chief Technology Officer. He has been involved in the product strategy, architecture, design, and development of all of OPNET's products. In 8/2000, Alain and his brother Marc brought OPNET public on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
