Abstract

District heating system is the major form of heat supply in many countries. However, the system lacks the motivation to utilize the thermal energy storage in the heat generation scheduling of combined heat and power plants, which leads to inflexibility in power system operation and renewable energy curtailment. We apply the idea of sharing economy in the electricity-heat nexus by sharing the benefit of renewable energy integration. An equilibrium model is formulated and solved with KKT optimal conditions to determine the best sharing mechanism between the two systems.
