LIDS faculty member Caroline Uhler received a 2017 NSF Career Award for her research, "Gaussian Graphical Models: Theory, Computation, and Applications". This research focuses on studying probabilistic graphical models, capturing statistical relationships that can provide insight into complex phenomena and novel, scientifically important questions. This methodology has broad impact, affecting application domains from weather forecasting to phylogenetics and to personalized medicine.
