July 21, 2020

We are thrilled to share that Igor Kadota has been named the recipient of the MIT School of Engineering Graduate Student Extraordinary Teaching and Mentoring Award. This award is given annually to a distinguished graduate student in the MIT School of Engineering who has demonstrated exceptional mentoring as a teaching or research assistant.

Igor received this award for his work as a TA for 16.36 - Communication Systems & Networks, where he played a major role in creating an entire Software Defined Radio (SDR) laboratory from the ground up and designing experiments for the course’s students.

He is currently finishing a PhD in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, advised by Prof. Eytan Modiano. His research aims to establish the theoretical foundations for modern communication networks, and leverage them towards the design of practical systems tailored to the needs of emerging data-driven applications such as shared augmented reality, autonomous vehicles, and smart factories.
