Omer Tanovic, LIDS student, receives Tucker Award for outstanding teaching from EECS

It is a pleasure to share the news that Omer Tanovic, a LIDS student, was the recipient of the EECS department’s Carlton E. Tucker Teaching Award for outstanding teaching, which was presented at the annual EECS Awards and Recognition Celebration on Sunday, May 21.  

Omer worked as a TA for 6.241 and 6.251, followed by two semesters of TA responsibilities in 6.003. The last two semesters he worked as an Instructor-G for 6.003.

Omer received his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he also worked for several years both in academia and industry. He is currently pursuing a PhD in EECS on the topic of nonlinear systems design for efficient implementation of various signal processing algorithms for modern communication systems.
