Welcome to the 24th annual LIDS Student Conference! The annual LIDS student conference provides an opportunity for graduate students to present their research to peers as well as to the community at large. You can find more information on our web site: http://studentconf.lids.mit.edu/.
The conference will be held on January 31 – February 1, 2019, at MIT's Stata Center Rooms 32-141.
We are delighted to have with us as distinguished plenary speakers:
Associate Professor, School of Computer Science
Carnegie Mellon University
Professor, College of Engineering - Mechanical Engineering
Boston University
Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Statistics
Stanford University
Adjunct Professor, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
University of California, Berkeley
As we approach the date of the conference, more information will be posted on the conference website: http://lidsconf.mit.edu/2019/.
Registration for the conference and the lunch on January 31st can be done using the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/IHFMQHK5MDCeuH353. You can also use the link to register to give a talk or present a poster.
The student talks are short presentations (12 minutes + Q&A) which provide an excellent opportunity for you to get your research known, exchange ideas with your peers, and receive feedback from other conference participants. Additionally, presenters have priority for a special lunch with the Plenary Speakers.
Also, this year we will hold a poster session which is a great chance for you to advertise your work, even initial research findings. We encourage all students to consider the poster session as a chance to present their research and discuss it with leading researchers in their fields.
Sign-ups are non-binding, and the presentations can be on anything ranging from preliminary results to published papers. We will also have prizes for the best presentations!
The deadline for indicating the intention to give a talk is November 10, 2018.
The deadline for committing to give a talk is December 10, 2018.
