Dr. Forney joined Codex Corp. in 1965, where he developed the first "modern" high-speed telephone line modem and served as vice president of R&D. After Motorola acquired Codex in 1977, he continued as vice president until he retired in 1999. He has been an adjunct professor in LIDS since 1996.
